Enhancing the wilderness experience

"Many of our itineraries are to rugged and remote wilderness areas, with the focus on 'mobile camping' as opposed to other accommodation options. Our guests favour these camping safaris for the close contact with nature, and the strong sense of being one with the wilderness environment."

African game-viewing and adventure safaris | FAQ

What type of client or traveller do your safari and wilderness tours typically appeal to?

The nature of our tours means that our itineraries and packages generally appeal to serious-minded travellers and those with a taste for adventure; guests who are interested in nature and enjoy the solitude of remote destinations, and not those who want to 'party' every night.

Do you offer tailor made tours to meet your client's specifications?

Yes. Apart from our set itineraries and departures, we also specialise in tailor-made excursions that are designed to meet your schedule and budget. Contact us to plan your ideal safari and wilderness experience.

Must we have our own 4x4 vehicle to take part in a Navigators tour?

No. While many guests choose to do a self-drive tour with us, using either their own or a hired 4x4 vehicle, others prefer to travel with us in our fully-equipped 4x4 vehicles - what we call one of our all-inclusive booked-seat tour options - giving them the opportunity to sit back and relax during the journey.

Do we need to be experienced off-roader drivers to join one of your self-drive tours?

Not necessarily. Some of our expedition tours are geared towards more experienced and bush-wise travellers, and we'll always inform you of this fact in our promotional material or communications with you. However, by focusing on taking small groups, we are able to spend time assisting you in developing your off-road skills and techniques during the tour, and one of our experienced and professional guides is always on hand to assist you through the more tricky sections.

Will we always see wildlife on one of your safari tours?

Our safari itineraries are designed to include areas that are generally known for good game viewing opportunities. While we are often successful in encountering the wildlife in these regions, various factors can influence the number of animals or birds present in a particular area at any given time, and for this reason we always emphasise that 'wildlife viewing' is often a case of being in the right place at the right time.
