Join us as we explore some of the fantastic wildlife and cultural highlights that Namibia has to offer. After experiencing Windhoek's German colonial heritage and architecture, we move north where a visit to the CCF (Cheetah Conservation Fund) near Otjiwarongo gives you a unique opportunity of see and learn about the conservation challenges facing these magnificent threatened animals.
We now set our sights on Etosha National Park, stopping to visit the Hoba Meteorite and Lake Otjikoto en route. Etosha Pan, translated as ‘Land of Dry Water’, is the Park’s main feature – a salty white pan, and all that remains of a large inland lake. There is a concentration of waterholes around the southern edges of the pan, and it is here that the game-viewing is at its best, particularly during the dry season, when the animals tend to congregate at the waterholes. Spend time at the floodlit waterholes – a well-known feature at each of Etosha’s restcamps - and be enthralled by the variety of wildlife that comes to quench their thirst here.

Moving westwards we enter the Khowarib Schlucht, following a remote 4WD route along an ancient watercourse that eventually exits between the towering walls of a narrow gorge. Then on to Fort Sesfontein, our base from where you will visit a Himba village, giving you the opportunity to learn more about the threatened culture and heritage of this pastoral-nomadic tribe.

Travel down the Hoanib River with us, following this seasonal watercourse that eventually reaches the coast. Small herds of endangered desert-dwelling elephants and giraffe may be seen, together with oryx, springbok and a variety of other hardy desert dwellers – continually searching for food and water in this harsh and arid landscape.

We now head south into Damaraland, home to populations of elephant, black rhino, mountain zebra and various antelope, continuing to the Twyfelfontein area that is primarily known for its World Heritage Site that has an extensive collection of rock engravings and interesting geological formations such as Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain.
