Established in 2004, Navigators is a niche-market safari operator, offering exclusive small-group tours. Our personally-guided tours place the emphasis on visiting some of Africa's very special remote areas that evoke a sense of solitude and mystery. For a private and exclusive safari with us in our equipped 4x4 vehicles, visit our booked-seat tour launch page, or visit our self-drive tour launch page to choose your next guided self-drive adventure. Contact us for tour dates and pricing, and we'll help you choose that unforgettable adventure of a lifetime...!
As many of our tours are spent in ecologically-sensitive regions, we include guidelines for guests about responsible travel during our journeys through these areas. Where feasible we will often also include stays at community-run campsites, and encourage the purchase of local crafts and curios, thereby benefitting these communities by our visits. We believe that it's not just about what we can get out of the experience, but also what we can give back! Click here to read more about our responsible travel policy.

For many, the highlight of this tour is our search for the rare and unusual Shoebill Stork on the edges of the Bangweulu swamps, whle for others the visit to Kapishya Hot Springs and Shiwa estate further north provides a memorable experience and insight into the colonial history of the area. Crossing the rugged North Luangwa Park and Luangwa River is a rare bush experience, and so too is our time spent in the seldom-visited Luambe National Park. With so many highlights and memorable adventures, this relaxed and varied African offroad experience is high on the 'to do' list of all nature lovers, and adventurous and self-sufficient self-drive travellers!

Join us in the last quarter of 2013 as we travel to Liuwa Plain, home to Africa's second-largest migration of wildebeest, zebra and antelope, usually co-inciding with the start of the rain season. It is always an adventure to reach this remote corner of Zambia, but once there, visitors are rewarded with an unforgettable wildlife and birding experience in one of Africa's great wilderness and wildlife areas! With a total of 4 nights spent in the park, this relaxed and unforgettable tour is a must-do adventure for all serious Africa travellers. Both self-drive and booked-seat options available.
Chris is an exceptionally good guide. He has a calm and collected manner in handling any situation, and is a very good host who made our trip special in every way. Kaokoveld is an outstretched and arid area, and his calmness, yet enthusiastic manner suited so well with the total package. The trip was safe, well planned and very professionally managed. His correspondence and guidelines are the most professional that we have read. We highly recommend Chris Schlimper and Navigators to any person wishing to build memories on 4x4 tracks!
